“Concourse” is an evening-length performance project co-created by choreographers Shakia Barron and Barbie Diewald. Barron and Diewald have presented their individual works alongside each other since 2017, but this marks the beginning of their collaborative partnership. “Concourse” is an extension of the duet form: Barron and Diewald facilitate a live dialogic intersection of mentors, themselves, and former students. BDF will host Barron and Diewald for two weeks - one week will be spent teaching repertory from this piece to high school students and engaging in discussions around collaboration. In the second week, the dancers in the piece will arrive and the company will be in residence to work on the piece offering a free public work in progress as well as an artist talk about their work.
