Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) and its Arts Program provide vital access to Latinx arts and culture for the over 1,100 residents of IBA’s low-income, predominantly Latinx affordable housing community, as well as for the Greater Boston area. Understanding that exposure to arts and culture develops vibrant and healthy communities, IBA’s Arts Program elevates issues pertinent to the Latinx community and affects social change through visual art, music, dance and more. The Arts Program will continue this work by creating a community mural within IBA’s Villa Victoria affordable housing community. In 2023 and 2024, IBA Arts Program staff will work with Puerto Rican artist Cristian Roldán to develop, install, and unveil the mural, engaging the community in culturally relevant art and amplifying the voice of a talented Latinx artist.
