Miami Light Project

Miami Light Project seeks funds to support the presentation of the world premiere “F.Punk Junkies” by Teo Castellanos D-Projects. “F.Punk Junkies” is a new Afropunk-inspired theatrical work written and directed by award-winning playwright Teo Castellanos with dramaturgy by Dr. Keshia Abraham and choreography by Michelle Grant-Murray and Augusto Soledade. The open to the public previews, performances & conversation with artist take place on October 3-8, 2022, at The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse in Miami, FL.

Honoring the elders in the artist community and cultivating the next generation of artists in the process, “F.Punk Junkies” disrupts traditional ways of both creating and experiencing art. Blending movement, music and spoken word, “F.Punk Junkies” brings Teo Castellanos D-Projects’ continued development of an “AfroRican Punk” aesthetic to the forefront, and breaks away from traditional Eurocentric proscenium theater by returning to the ritual & interactive performance circle.
