Mariona Lloreta will travel to Rio de Janeiro to deepen her training, understanding and technique of samba no pé, mentored by Brazilian master dancer and choreographer Alex Coutinho of the Tuiuti Samba School. After immersing herself in local rehearsals, trainings, performances which will culminate in taking part in the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro, Mariona will use her knowledge and experience to choreograph and perform new work in New England upon her return to Boston.
