The Weisman Art Museum (WAM) of the University of Minnesota will present “she who lives on the road to war,” an immersive inter-sensorial installation and performance of moving image, moving sound, moving sculpture and moving people, created by Rosy Simas (Seneca, Heron clan) in collaboration with performers and designers. Public audiences are invited to gather, find refuge, rest, condole, witness and feel compassion, and gain a greater understanding of how we can all work towards reconciliation during the dual pandemics of systematic racism and COVID-19. From August 2022 to February 2023, WAM will host seven performances of Rosy’s project in its Target Studio gallery (9/21, 9/25, 9/28, 10/1, 10/12, 12/3, 12/4 all 6PM), and present her related art installation in the Target Studio gallery from September 6, 2022 to February 7, 2023. An Artist Talk and Panel Discussion will be hosted for the public on November 9, 6:30pm.
