Emerging from the relationships and needs of Wicoun lead project partner Lakota Youth Development, Larissa FastHorse, Michael John Garcés and Cornerstone Theater Company will collaborate with LYD youth and staff to develop a new short play to share with visitors. The play will follow Áya, one of the lead characters in Wicoun - a young Lakota teen with some Dakota ancestors, assigned female gender, but living in a true two spirit place. Cornerstone artists will work with local youth to adapt and perform a local version of the play for audiences at three to five of the Wicoun tour sites.
