Dancers will arrive the weekend of 6/4 to load in equipment & rehearse. Rehearsals will be outdoors in public view, which may entice passersby to attend the shows. During the rehearsal week, choreographer Jo Kreiter will offer a free dance workshop for both dancers and non-dancers. We will have 3 performances of “Apparatus of Repair.” Show start times will be 8:30PM on June 9, 10, & 11, (the 12 and 13th are held in case of rain) A discussion with the choreographer and local partner organizations will precede each show to introduce the audience to issues explored in the work for context before viewing it. The performance is 50 minutes. After performances, we will also hold space for discussion and artist Q&A. At least one performance & discussion will have ASL interpretation. The show consists of dancers rappelling down a building in public view to perform a dance on the facade about the intimate healing process of restorative justice.
