Scapegoat Garden's Liturgy|Order|Bridge centers dance as the organizing principle in a liturgy—a ritualized public ceremony—and asks: What might it mean to engage dance practice as faith practice, performance as communal ceremony, performance space as consecrated site, and audience engagement as a fellowship of shared witness, place, and inheritance? Wesleyan University's Center for the Arts will present Liturgy|Order|Bridge in February, 2024 following an earlier excerpt presentation of the show in Feb 2020. Deb Goffe and company will be coming to campus in fall 2023 to build a community chorus and identity "wisdom keepers" (community leaders and local history keepers) who will perform as part of the show. In addition, we will host a series of flower-making workshops with our campus and Middletown communities. These large-scale paper flowers will become a central visual focal point within the show.
