Québec-based ensemble Les Sages Fous (LSF) will spend a weekend in residency at Mayo Street Arts (MSA) in November, 2023 offering two performances of their latest show, “Tricyckle,” co-produced with Norway’s Nordland Visual Theatre.
“Tricyckle” is a spectacle of metamorphosis and transformation using objects and puppetry. Visual theatre without words, the show was conceived to be performed in theatres and also unusual non-conventional spaces. Tricyckle's intriguing musical score is composed solely of invented instruments created with found objects.
“Tricycle” aims to break down barriers between high culture and popular art. LSF drew inspiration from folk artists, particularly men who roam the city of Trois-Rivières on their old tricycles, looking for all kinds of materials they carry on their makeshift trailers.
