Mayo Street Arts (MSA) will present two performances of Puppet Kabob’s “The Snowflake Man,” a puppet show inspired by Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley, the self-educated farmer and scientist.
In 1885, Bently attracted worldwide attention by adapting a bellows camera to a compound microscope, becoming the first person to capture the image of a single snow crystal. He coined the phrase, “no two snowflakes are alike.”
“The Snowflake Man” is a unique trunk show featuring beautifully designed Czech-style marionettes and a pop-up book of striking water-color scenery. The tiny details of this production when placed next to the intricate designs within a snow crystal brings harmony and focus to the wondrous beauty of the minute in nature. The performance will be followed by a Q&A.
