BarnArts Global Music Residency program will bring Sayon Camara, a djembe player, musician, performer, and teacher to the Upper Valley of Vermont in early November 2023. Sayon Camara is an exemplary djembe player of the music of the Malinke people from the Sankaran region of Guinea, West Africa. He will hold culturally-focused education and music workshops in 5-8 elementary and secondary schools for a week of local engagements. His residency will culminate in one or more public performances, a highlight that connects the bonds created through the school workshops with a public celebration.
