I am in the process of creating a dance video that recreates my full length piece titled “Pink Blue”, that my company, Art UnEarths, performed multiple times in-person, over the past two years. During the spring and summer of 2023 “Pink Blue” was featured in the first installation of “BOLT”, an evening length production, uplifting Asian Femme voices, that I did in collaboration with the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, MA , Green Acre Bahai Center for Learning and two other choreographers. “Pink Blue” explores the fluidity in gender roles based on the traditions of Pre-colonial Philippines, using ballroom and contemporary dance, with props. This video is site-specific and will require my collaboration with 6 dancers, 2 videographers and the Worcester Art Museum. If awarded funds, I will complete this video project and submit it to national and international dance film festivals, as well as incorporating it into our second installation of “BOLT” in spring of 2024.
