The principal purpose of our travel to see Nothing Micro about Micronesia is to witness an indigenous piece of theater that was developed not only to focus on the continued discrimination of Micronesians but the uplifting of voices of our Oceania People through community based story collection. This could be a template for many more stories to be unearthed and heard. To see TeAda’s Production of Nothing Micro about Micronesia here at home in Hawai’i will be inspiring as we at the MACC center our work around the healing power of the arts through an indigenous lens. We hope to invite this performance to the MACC in October, 2024 and this trip will help guide that partnership and planning.
