BarnArts welcomes The Afro-Semitic Experience to our Feast & Field Music Series. The Afro-Semitic Experience is a band that combines an eclectic array of styles, sophisticated musicianship, good songwriting, deep grooves, and years of friendship with a simple message: Unity in the Community. Their intentions reflect BarnArts dedication to building community through art and creating music lineups diverse in genre, race, and culture. In addition to their Feast & Field performance, the Afro-Semitic Experience will present their “Unity in the Community” workshop at our venue before their performance. Their workshop inspires connection through music and culture through Jewish and African-American drumming and singing. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of this complex blend of cultures and how music works as a unifier among people and regions with different histories.
