Wolver Maroon is a feminine howl at the blood moon.An excavation and activation of caretaking via gossamer dreams, it kisses and lightly asphyxiates between prayer, wreckage, grief-stricken entrails, and a devastatingly soigné bite. It is Heart Stück Bernie’s newest dance theater work that sings from base, fanged udders and wily survivalism of darkest hours—to spun-out phantasmagoric spectacle. From stark solo moments to a raucous ensemble of 30, it includes art direction from Ben Furgal, music from Dan Deacon, a life size Lite Brite, and a first aid kit for existential whys to question, upend, carry, and hold us all accountable for day on the other side of night.
Wolver Maroon includes two pivotal engagement initiatives for your dance community:
- Opportunity for up to 20 local dancers to join the company in performance
- Parent Artist Forums to gather, share, and create, with free arts-based childcare provided.
Caretakers of the Land/Land Acknowledgement: We dance, gather with community, and break bread on the unceded lands of the Piscataway, Nacotchtank/Anacostan, Powhatan, and Pawmunkey Peoples.
