Center for the Arts at Kayenta

The Center for the Arts at Kayenta will present Theater Mitu's UTOPIAN HOTLINE as part of our 2024/2025 season. The project will launch with the introduction of Theater Mitu's public telephone hotline (646-694-8050) this September, prompting people to leave messages to the future. These voicemails along with messages from astronauts, astronomers, futurists, spiritual communities, and middle school students make up the source material for Utopian Hotline, which can be experienced through live performances and an accompanying vinyl record of original music. UTOPIAN HOTLINE will be open as a free installation over the course of our annual "Art In Kayenta" festival, promoting engagement with a broad regional audience. The project will then have a 9-performance run for audiences in Southwest Utah.
