The Foundry

An Approximation of Resilience explores our carceral system from the intimate perspective of artist Bill Clark, who has spent the past 32 years on Death Row. Even though Clark is incarcerated, his wholehearted embrace of life is magnificent to experience. Resilience represents choreographer Alex Ketley’s latest response that society determines certain people less worthy of attention and celebration and, by extension, how this can be reflected on dance stages. Created with a stellar cast of performers, the core of the work is that beauty lies everywhere, even in prison, if it is given a chance to be seen and magnified.
