This grant will support in the airfare needed to travel to Colombo,Sri Lanka November 18th through November 27th to have a residency and research trip with MeshGround. This would include traveling around Sri Lanka to engage with disabled dance and nondisabled dance organizations like VisAbility; spending time in different areas of the country to reflect on my own practice; as well as have different workshops and choreography opportunities for the MeshGround company. We had one day of proven success when I worked with MeshGround and VisAbility in November 2023. They were thrilled at the opportunity to have US based disabled dance leaders share with their disabled/contemporary Sri Lankan dance practices. I'm thrilled to also learn from their practices and see how their adaptive practices and in general their culture can influence my work.
