Sarah Hogland-Gurulé, the director of UNBOUND, and the show's new stage manager, Nathaniel Herndon, will travel to San Francisco, CA to pitch the show to the San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF). Sarah and Nate will meet directly with the festival's director, Andrew Wood. Sarah met Mr. Wood in Vancouver, CA earlier this year during a performance of Elle Sofe Sara's 'The Answer is Land' at the Vancouver Playhouse. They discussed UNBOUND and arrived at the idea that SFIAF could co-present UNBOUND and The Answer is Land during its 2025 season in a weekend devoted to indigenous storytelling. Sarah and Nathaniel will meet with Mr. Wood to further discuss presenting details and opportunities for community engagement. Mr. Wood will take them to a few community centers around the Mission District to pitch UNBOUND community workshops. They will also visit the presenting theater, Dance Mission, and discuss workshop ideas and technical needs with the staff.
