The Lost Tribe will headline BarnArts 13th annual Masquerade Jazz and Funk Winter Music Carnival. They are a drum-centered Afro-Funk band representing music from across the African Diaspora using the djembe as a cultural tool uniting jazz, funk, rock, blues and reggae. They create a platform for artists of different, overlapping communities to come together.

BarnArts 13th annual Masquerade Jazz and Funk Winter Music Carnival is a 4-hr, family-friendly celebration of music and community, centering around a “masquerade” theme with a mask making table, photo booth, and a taco bar. The evening begins with sets by local jazz stars, a swing band, and the local high school jazz funk band. It’s a beloved community staple that brings together a diverse group of attendees and performers to joyfully gather in a typically isolating time of year.

The day before the event, the band will visit two local schools to conduct workshops and perform at West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts.
