Shallow Waters seeks to evoke the visual experience of the tidal landscape of Chelsea Creek through an abstract representation of a marsh ecosystem in Chelsea Square. Referring to the Creek’s more pristine past through the Battle of Chelsea Creek, it offers a lush contrast to the unabashed maritime industrial landscape it has become. Audio components via cell phone will offer narrative about the Creek’s past and present, and encourage visitors to imagine its future.
