NEFA Announces Contemporary Dance Awards

National Dance Project (NDP), a program of the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), has designated $400,000 to support U.S. tours of ten contemporary dance projects in the 2011-2012 season.  Projects were selected from a highly competitive pool of international and U.S. applicants. Tours funded will serve diverse audiences, and will enhance the range of NDP-funded projects throughout the U.S.

“This round of awards will allow communities across the U.S. to experience exciting and diverse dance work from six continents” said Jane Forde, Program Manager of the National Dance Project.

These ten NDP Touring Awards are in addition to touring activity of projects by 21 dance artists and companies that received NDP production grants in July 2010.  In total, NDP will provide up to $1,240,000 in support for dance presentations across the U.S during the 2011-12 season.
