American Islamic Congress, Inc.

The American Islamic Congress will commission critically acclaimed composer Mehmet Ali Sanlikol - an ethnomusicologist and Turkish music expert - to produce an original Turkish music-influenced jazz composition. The piece will be performed at AIC's cultural center as part of their annual event series to showcase and promote discussion around Muslim culture and identity. As an accompaniment to his performance, Dr. Sanlikol will host a lecture/demonstration and Q&A session to discuss his experience as a composer, professor, and Muslim-American.
