Wesleyan's CFA requests support to mount Tari Aceh! Music and Dance from the Northernmost Tip of Sumatra, the first-ever U.S. tour by dancers and musicians from Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The all-female group of nine dancers will travel to Wesleyan, Wellesley, and the College of the Holy Cross and conduct a series of campus and community engagement activities providing New England audiences the opportunity to see this astonishing form of dance, as well as explore the complexity of Muslim women's expressive traditions.
