Ethnomusicologist Kera Washington will spend two days working with all 230+ students in the K. A. Brett School, with musicians of any skill level, and other community members. She will teach rhythms, songs, dance steps and history from Haiti. On the second day Kera’s seven-woman band, Zili Misik, will play African, Caribbean and American soul at an afternoon performance and Q&A for the school and public, and an evening performance at The Barnstormers Theatre for the general public, with participation at both from students and community.
