DUET LOVE summons fantasies around love into an inquiry around the desires for narrative often
underpinning the dance duet. Movement is sourced from iconic images of couples John and
Yoko, Jackie and John, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Kurt and Courtney. At first, these images function as
associative shorthand for our various engrained notions of hetero-romance. Considered further, these
seminal icons prove untraditional standards of masculinity and femininity. DUET LOVE thrives upon
these queer twists in iconic portrayals of man-woman love.
