Created in collaboration with French composer Francois Richomme and production manager Steven Carlino, We Wait In The Darkness is a performance journey of displacement and homecoming fueled by the stories of the Seneca women of Simas' family, particularly her grandmother. Mostly a solo show featuring Simas, her mother Laura Waterman Wittstock will make a cameo reading original letters from her mother/Simas' grandmother to tell a story of how cultural beliefs and practice endure through assimilation and oppression for this three show run.
