Remains is a new dance work by John Jasperse, his fifth commission by BAM. The premiere will occur at EMPAC in Jan. 2016. The New York City premiere will be at BAM Next Wave 2016. Addressing the illusion of self as separate and the notion of legacy as interconnected cause-effect relationships with ones' environs, the work will be constructed with a notion of an extended body that involves physical objects and some technology including potentially kinetic sculptural elements and 2-D screen imagery, where the dance might continue to exist in some form without the dancers.
