The Hopkins Center will present a residency and performance by extraordinary music theater artist Taylor Mac of three chapters of his new “History of Popular Music: the Decades,” spanning the Revolutionary War period. The project brings Mac for early on-site planning, forges new partnerships with historical societies and GLBTQ communities; and helps expand Mac’s visibility in New England. Daring to engage conventional audiences with an unconventional drag artist, the project emphasizes the local community's pride in its own historical narrative.
