UMass Amherst, Asian Arts and Culture Program

The Asian Arts and Culture Program at UMass Amherst will present two world renowned musicians Wu Man and the Shanghai Quartet in a new collaborative project titled "A Night in Ancient and New China" on March 28-29, 2016 in concert with a Q&A. The residency activities will include a lecture demonstration by Wu Man, a masterclass by the Shanghai Quartet for music students at UMass, four area colleges, Holyoke Community College, and community musicians, a screening of the film "Discovery a Musical Heartland: Wu Man returns to China" with director Wu Man, introductory remarks, a Meet and Greet Artist reception, and a seminar on "The Chinese Cultural Revolution: A Period of Great Change."
