MASS MoCA

"Promenade Mobile" is a 90-minute experimental site work created by Projet In Situ. The work combines movement, smartphone technology, and community involvement. It is an unconventional performance experience where audiences arrive and, rather than enter a theater, go on a choreographed journey of a neighborhood or city center. Participants are given earbuds and a smartphone that guide them via audio and text instructions to various public and private spaces, inviting the “audience” to engage with the sites in a variety of ways. During a three-week residency the artists will adapt the piece to MASS MoCA's community.
