UH Hilo Performing Arts Center

The University of Hawaii - Hilo Performing Arts Center will present Amy O'Neal's Opposing Forces; an exploration of feminine perceptions in our culture through the lens of Hip Hop. The cast (5 men & DJ) examines the value systems of race and gender within the environments of commercial dance, contemporary performance. The piece will be performed at the UHH Performing Arts Center in Feb 2016. Amy O'Neal will conduct two Master Classes at UHH. Classes will focus on various styles and forms of movement. The company has used their experiences to help shape their personal dance styles giving them the ability to transcend dance disciplines and perceived boundaries.
