Co-created by composer Paola Prestini, writer/performer Rinde Eckert, and director/designer Julian Crouch (Improbable Theatre), Aging Magician is a poignant new music-theater work that spins the tale of an elderly watchmaker who moves us from the surgical repair of a timepiece to the magic show of time itself on a journey to find meaning at the end of life. The show features the Brooklyn Youth Chorus directed by Dianne Berkun-Menaker, Bang on a Can’s Mark Stewart (instruments), Josh Higgason (video/lighting design), and Amy Rubin (co-scenic design). The piece is commissioned by Walker Art Center. World premiere performances in the Walker Art Center's McGuire Theater on March 5-6, 2016.
