(October 29, 2015 - Boston, MA) The New England Foundation for the Arts has awarded $78,500 in the first round of grants of NEFA’s newest initiative, Creative City. Creative City is a three-year pilot that will make grants to Boston area artists to create works that take place in the public realm and engage or expand access for public participation.
“These nine artists and projects highlight the creativity and history that already exists in our communities, across the city’s neighborhoods,” said Cathy Edwards, NEFA executive director. “Boston benefits because artists will engage people in the places that they live, work, and play. We are grateful to the Barr Foundation for their partnership in realizing this initiative.”
