NEFA’s National Theater Project (NTP) had the privilege of curating a week-long, topical series for HowlRound, the online journal of the Center for the Theater Commons.
This series of articles, blog entries, and a live interview are all online, and today marks the culmination of the NEFA-curated week.
There is a logical connection between the Commons and NTP – both projects are interested in the broader discussion of what is moving theater across this country. While NTP is about supporting artists in creating and touring new, devised, collaboratively created (or as Dianne Rodriguez calls it, hyper-collaborative) works of theater, the Commons is where many artists are discussing new ways of making and doing work.
Three grant cycles into the project, NTP continues to ask questions about how to support artists in ways that are effective and creative. The pieces in this curated collection are by NTP artists, NTP advisors, and NTP staff, and they represent just a small sampling of what NEFA, the artists, and the larger community are learning.
The goal of publishing on HowlRound is to add NTP’s and NTP participants’ voice to the conversation; we encourage you to explore these posts and add your feedback to the conversation.
