UMS will present Israel’s renowned Batsheva Dance Company in January 2017 in an extended-weekend residency. During that time, they will perform their new “Last Work” and participate in related engagement activities. Choreographed by artistic director Ohad Naharin. “Last Work” uses the company’s famous Gaga movement language to offer a political meditation on futility, shifting from sustained and meditative movement to frenzied bursts of energy that run through a huge range of emotion.
