UMS will work with Detroit’s Michigan Opera Theater to present the renowned dance company, Mark Morris Dance Group, in October 2016 for a multi-day residency in Ann Arbor. During that time, they will perform their new work, “Layla and Majnun,” and participate in related engagement activities. Choreographed by artistic director Mark Morris, “Layla and Majnun” is an Arabian love story that originated as a poem in ancient Persia and is well known among many Middle Eastern and sub-continental cultures.
