"Kannapolis: A Moving Portrait" invites us into the world of Depression-era filmmaker H. Lee Waters who documented the lives of ordinary people in small southern towns. His footage has been reworked into a new film by director Finn Taylor and is accompanied by live original music by acclaimed composer, singer and violinist Jenny Scheinman. Her soundtrack of new folk songs and fiddle music is augmented with field sounds resulting in a haunting final piece. The Capitol Center intends to explore the connecting thread of human experience that runs from these ordinary people in a Southern Mill town, to the new residents of the mill cities of New Hampshire who are just beginning their stories.
