Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT will present "Black Girl Linguistic Play" by Camille A. Brown & Dancers. The work moves beyond stereotypical perceptions of Black females, to reveal the complexities of carving out a self-defined identity as a Black female in urban American culture using the rhythmic play of African-American dance vernacular including social dancing, double dutch, steppin’, tap, Juba and ring shout.
