Cal Performances

On October 27, 2017 Cal Performances will present Dorrance Dance in a program that includes a new, extended version—co-commissioned by Cal Performances—of Michelle Dorrance’s acclaimed work, “Myelination,” with original music by Gregory Richardson and Donovan Dorrance. Dorrance and her company will also perform the rarely seen, Bessie Award-winning “Three to One” and a revival of the whimsical “Jungle Blues,” in a program that connects tap back to its roots in jazz and jump blues, and forward to the cadences of hip-hop and indie rock. Surrounding the performance, Cal Performances will host an artist talk and community dance class for members of the UC Berkeley and Bay Area communities.
