The Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph

Tour planning for Muslim-American hip-hop artist Amirah Sackett’s work with the Autorino Center for the Arts at the University of Saint Joseph, The Yard, Quick Center for the Arts, and Sandglass Theater. Sackett will be introduced to the Greater Hartford community as well as to other parts of the region to meet with New England presenters. At a time when hate and intolerance have become a common theme of political and public discourse, Amirah’s work is more important than ever. “We share a culture. There’s a sector of us that grew up here, we grew up doing a lot of the same thing. That ‘otherness’ thing – we are not ‘other’.”
