Camille A Brown & Dancers: HWS Colleges’ residency September 25-30, 2017. Brown brings work from her identity-based trilogy, performing sections from “Black Girl Linguistic Play” and “ink.” CAB&D will offer master classes in dance technique and movement as a vehicle for understanding race, politics, gender and cultural identity through the African American lens. Two performances with artist-audience talk back. All events open to the Geneva-area community, including teens and youth. By highlighting CAB&D we hope to deepen a dialogue on race and social justice across community members begun in 2016 with adopting Claudia Rankine’s “Citizen” as a common read.
