In Hair & Other Stories, Jawole Zollar and Urban Bush Women, along with director Raelle Myrick Hodges and comedic writer Keisha Zollar, have developed a multidisciplinary, evening-length work that addresses matters of race, gender identity, and economic inequality through the lens of hair, primarily that of African American women. Urban Bush Women (UBW) will also take their work beyond the stage, engaging the community in conversation, movement workshops, and masterclasses in a three-day artist residency.
