The Museum’s expanded performance series and 2018 exhibits will directly address core concerns of the historical Civil Rights Movement and contemporary issues related to social justice. In June, spoken word and contemporary movement artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s production, /peh-LO-tah/, will explore cultural traditions, immigration, and freedom through the lens of international Futbol. A companion program, moving and passing, will offer soccer clinics and political education using choreography to engender empathy and generate community connections.
