Kimberly Bartosik’s, I hunger for you, an evening-length choreographic work for five performers, reflects her long-term examination into faith, ecstasy, and violence within radical religious practices. This research delves into her experiences of growing up in North Carolina with parents who converted to Born-Again Christianity and their embrace of Charismatic rituals. I hunger for you focuses on the need for faith and a collective desire for transformation. The work will be presented during BAM Next Wave 2018, following a premiere at Lumberyard/ADI in early fall 2018.
