BRKFST Dance Company

BRKFST Dance Company will create an original dance work set to the orchestral composition “Dancers, Dreamers and Presidents” by Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) in partnership with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. This work, titled Dancers, Dreamers and Presidents, will premiere in December 2022. This rigorous, innovative, and choreographic collaborative work of Twin Cities-based breaking choreographers will investigate the physical manifestation of an internal and external world of distraction, fragmentation, and imbalance. Dancers, Dreamers and Presidents will tour to orchestras, seeking and securing opportunities to educate, collaborate, and communicate with audiences and communities while on tour. BRKFST will work with local colleges, universities, and hip hop communities, offering adaptive, collaborative residencies to instigate shared experience across cultures of dancers and musicians.

Land acknowledgement: Minnesota (Mni Sota Makoce - Land Where the Waters Reflect the Skies) is the ancestral and contemporary home of the Wahpekute and Očhéthi Šakówin Peoples. Residents are indebted to indigenous led movements that fight for the protection of the waterways.
