Sarah Michelson returns to the Walker in October 2018 for her fourth Walker commission, October2018/\(for Minneapolis). Located in both the Perlman Gallery and the stage of the McGuire Theater, this new work will be created in collaboration with members of her performing/design team, with local choreographer/visual artist/technician Karen Sherman and with young local dancers. Reflecting the ambition, rigor and provocation of her previous works while continuing to push the boundaries of her practice, the new work specifically draws upon the legacy of Merce Cunningham, October2018/\(for Minneapolis).
