Avery Sharpe is a master teacher/performer at Litchfield Jazz Camp. He will lead combos, master and theory classes, appear on panels and give public performances. He will perform at Litchfield Jazz Festival in July 2020 7/25 & 26. Sharpe is best known as a member of the McCoy Tyner Trio since 1984 and has gigged with artists from Dizzy Gillespie to Pat Metheny. Formerly a Sterling Brown Distinguished Visiting Artist at Williams College, he is now Artist Associate in Jazz Bass and Jazz Coach there. He is also Faculty Adviser for the Williams Gospel Choir and affiliated faculty for Africana Studies. He has played Litchfield Jazz Festival often and been a teaching artist at its Camp since 2008.
