AMAL (DEUXOS) is a theater/spoken word piece written and performed by the Combat Hippies, an ensemble of Latino and Black Iraq War veterans and is being developed and directed by award winning theater artist Teo Castellanos. It focuses on the effects of war on both U.S. combat veterans and Middle Eastern refugees. This piece is in collaboration with refugees and artists from the Middle East and follows a refugee’s voice as they flee from a war-torn country.
